Santa Ynez Valley fine dining establishment First & Oak Restaurant at the Mirabelle Inn launches a new food business endeavor on June 1. First & Oak Kitchen, a fully-equipped food truck available for all levels of catering and private events, is offering open-to-the-public weekend lunch, snack, and early dinner service Thursday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
First & Oak Kitchen’s menu is designed by First & Oak’s Executive Chef Steven Snook. In keeping with First & Oak’s locally-sourced, farm-fresh cuisine prepared with classic French techniques, First & Oak’s food truck aims to focus on an all-day appropriate menu comprised of iconic French fare: sweet and savory crêpes. Classic and inventive twists on the traditional crêpe await: fried chicken with gravy and spicy pickles; braised beef short rib with crispy potatoes, tomato relish and melted cheese; Peanut Butter Crunch (peanuts, chocolate, caramel ice cream); and cherries with mint, graham cracker and vanilla ice cream.
Find First & Oak Kitchen “parked” adjacent to the Coquelicot Estate Vineyard tasting room’s outdoor garden area, on Alamo Pintado Avenue in Los Olivos. This strategic placement combines comfort with convenience to create the perfect mobile dining experience.
“We decided to place First & Oak Kitchen at the Coquelicot tasting room’s outdoor area, to enhance our tasting room guest experience,” says Jonathan Rosenson, First & Oak’s co-owner, general manager, sommelier, and co-owner of Coquelicot Estate Vineyard. “We have this beautiful exterior space with lawn games, gardens and sitting areas, and we’d love to see more people take advantage of that by really making an afternoon of it…we already had the wine covered, and now we’ll have food to match, too.”
First & Oak Restaurant is located at 409 First St. in Solvang. The restaurant is open for dinner service seven days a week from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. A schedule of where to find First & Oak Kitchen will soon be available on the truck’s web site, firstandoakkitchen.com.
