Do you identify as (or at least aspire to be) a beer aficionado? When you envision your ideal Saturday, does it include you sipping on an ice cold craft beer? Now that rainy season seems to finally be a thing of the past, there is nothing distracting us from reveling in the bliss that is festival season, and I’m not talking about Coachella! On May 6, the Buellton Brew Fest kicks off the Central Coast’s craft beer festival season.
Buellton, the Central Coast’s original craft beer destination, is home to two local favorite breweries, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. and Firestone Walker Brewing Company, both of which will offer samples at the Brew Fest. Other noteworthy names on the lineup include Captain Fatty’s, Island Brewing Company, M. Special, Pure Order Brewing Co., Rincon Brewery, Santa Maria Brewing Company, Solvang Brewing Company, Telegraph Brewing Company, Third Window and Valley Brewers.
All in all, more than 50 breweries, wineries and spirits will be in attendance, mostly hailing from Santa Barbara County, but some from other regions of California, and even some out-of-state breweries.
While you’ll be coming for the beer, you’ll realize you’re staying for much more. An array of food trucks will be present to fulfill all snacking needs. Entertainment will range from live performances by The Caverns, OutOfTheBlue and DJ Hecktik, to games of mega sized beer pong and corn hole.
To ensure all attendees make it to and from the festival safely, the Brew Bus, only costing $25, will pick up guests in select locations in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Santa Maria and Lompoc. Those who live in Buellton, or are staying nearby, can hop onto the Santa Ynez Valley Transit, which drops off right at River View Park.
The Buellton Brew Fest takes place on May 6 at River View Park, 151 Sycamore Dr., Buellton, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. For more information visit www.buelltonbrewfest.com.
