Art at MichaelKate presents the opening reception of Nature Interpreted on Friday, May 26 from 5-8 p.m. in the MichaelKate Interiors and Art Gallery (132 Santa Barbara St.). This collection is curated by Jan Ziegler and features Dorothy Churchill-Johnson, Stuart Ochiltree, Nancy Freeman and Valerie Freeman—the artists will be introduced at 6 p.m. during the opening reception.

Nature is an entity that inspires visual artists more than any other subject. This art is often expressed in the form of an abstract emotional response or the desire to recreate the essence of that moment in time—time, light, location and feeling. The four artists featured in this exhibition each have their own unique interpretations of nature.
