The 2017 Santa Barbara Fair and Expo is coming up, and creative people of all ages are invited to display their creative works in the 5-day festival, open from Wednesday, April 26 through Sunday, April 30 at Earl Warren Showgrounds (3400 Calle Real). The deadline for entry forms is Wednesday, March 22.
This year’s theme is “Back to the 50’s.” There are competitive exhibit categories for adults and youth entries. Poodle skirts, paintings of the Fonz and hot rod models are more than welcome, or anything else that would ignite an artistic trip back in time.
Exhibitionists are not limited to just this theme. Submit something created for another use, such as a holiday centerpiece, a painting of your favorite subject or one of your children’s impressive school projects. Let the community see what you are capable of, and meet other talented artists as well! Those who know their way around the kitchen are also invited to take part in daily cooking contests (also open separately to both youths and adults). Here’s a chance to enter a treasured recipe, watch the judging and take part in all of the fun!
