The Marcia Burtt Gallery (517 Laguna St.) presents “Rural Life,” an exploration of the countryside by gallery artists. The exhibit will be open to the public beginning on Friday, March 17 and will remain on display until May 14.

Artists include Jeff Yeomans, Anne Ward, Marilyn Turtz, Randall David Tipton, Erling Sjovold, Ray Roberts, Ian Roberts, Susan Petty, Ann Lofquist, Marilee Krause, Dana Hooper, Michael Ferguson, Patricia Doyle, Marcia Burtt and Robert Abbott.

The exhibit showcases some classic rural motifs like fields, flora and farm animals but this exhibit challenges the connotation of the word “rural.” Although many commonly associate this word with a simple, mundane way of living, the pieces that comprise this exhibit are intricate and full of life.
