The Art From Scrap Gallery (302 E. Cota St.) in downtown Santa Barbara is hosting an opening reception for Bonnie and Friends, a Retrospective Exhibition showcasing the work of artist Bonnie Anne Rapkin. The opening takes place Friday, March 17 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and the work will be on display until April 23.
Rapkin’s artwork brings together her eye for flashy jewelry and her love for found objects. Her work captures a wry humor and fanciful attitude. Throughout her lifetime, Rapkin debuted work at Paradise Found, Art from Scrap and in the Buddha Abides exhibitions. Although she suffered from progressive rheumatic arthritis which affected her spine, hands and feet she persevered through these ailments to create art.
