“Enjoy getting in touch with your community and contributing to cleaner air and a healthier planet.” – Mary Byrd, Project Manager with APCD
What better way to celebrate our wonderful Earth than by walking, biking or taking the electric shuttle to the 2016 SB Earth Day Festival, April 16-17 at Alameda Park, 1400 Santa Barbara St.. The Santa Barbara Car Free Project is offering special prize opportunities to those who arrive to the festival without a car.
These eco-friendly people can also register for the Grand Prize, which includes two round trip tickets to Seattle or Portland aboard the Amtrak Coast Starlight in a private roomette with beautiful scenic views paired with delicious meals.
Other prizes awarded throughout the festival include pairs of Amtrak Pacific Surfliner tickets, a one-night’s stay at Hotel Santa Barbara, brunch for two at Belmond El Encanto Hotel, passes from Clean Air Express Saturday Service to the Santa Ynez Valley, 10-ride bus passes from SB Metropolitan Transit District, Butterfly Beach tour for two with Segway of SB, a Media Maker Academy Membership from TVSB, bike rental passes from Wheel Fun Rentals, SB Trolley Company city tour passes and a SB Bicycle Coalition household membership and water bottles.
Santa Barbara Car Free is an award-winning project funded and led by SB County Air Pollution Control District with more than 100 community partners. All are committed to making car free vacations care-free. The Air Pollution Control District/SB Car Free booth will be located at the park entrance at Anacapa and Micheltorena streets (near the bike valet parking provided by Bici Centro/Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition).
