MCASB Presents Beyond 2° Millennial Impact

Are you passionate about the environment and want to make a difference? Explore Ecology and Museum of Contemporary Art’s Teen Arts Council invites all high school environmental enthusiasts from Santa Barbara County to submit their artwork to Beyond 2°: Millennial Impact.

The Museum of Contemporary Art‘s (MCASB) Teen Arts Council organizes and presents a student exhibition with Beyond 2°,  an MCASB exhibition that brings attention to the ecological and social effects of natural resource extraction and exploitation.

“The idea behind the exhibition is to allow teens to express their voice and opinions on environmental issues through art.” —Megan, a member of the Council.

Artwork must relate to the natural sciences, recycled materials or be inspired by our current environment. Only three submissions per artist, each not exceeding 28″ x 36″, but all art mediums are welcome. Submissions must be dropped off at Art From Scrap (302 E. Cota St.) by March 11 between 10 a.m – noon and completed applications must be included.

This exhibition opens with an Art Workshop on Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m.-noon at Art From Scrap. It will be taught by members of MCASB Teen Arts Council and refreshments will be served. The cost of the workshop is $8 per person.

To close out the exhibition, Beyond 2°: Millennial Impact will have a free closing reception and party at Art From Scrap on Friday, April 22 from 6-8 p.m. Come enjoy art, food, festivities and music!
