Legendary all-male ballet company Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (aka the “Trocks”) comes to the Granada Theatre (1214 State St.) on Tuesday April 8 at 8 p.m., presented by UCSB Arts and Lectures.
The comedic program includes ballet classics such as Swan Lake, Balanchine and French haute classics along with modern dances—all parodied and performed in drag (tutus and all), yet still perfectly en pointe.
The Trocks, a company which The Seattle Times claims to “bring its audiences pure joy,” first started dancing in New York off-off-broadway lofts in 1997. Since then they have become internationally known, performing in over 500 cities and collecting dance awards from around the world. Now, they return to Santa Barbara after 16 years to celebrate their 40th anniversary guaranteed to amuse and to inspire. Don’t miss out on the fun!
