Progressive midwestern artist Nell Brooker is featured at Sullivan Goss –An American Gallery (7 E. Anapamu St.) in a new exhibition, “Nell Brooker Mayhew: Paintings from the Estate.”
This collection of oils on canvas, paintings on paper and graphics depicts California’s architecture and landscapes of the 1900s–1940s. With influences of French Impressionism, Japanese prints, Art Nouveau, Symbolism, the Arts & Crafts movement and color etching, Mayhew captures the brilliant landscape and architecture of the time.
The exhibit runs through June 29.
