Discovering new art or theater is many Santa Barbarans’ favorite pastimes—we all like to be at the forefront of culture, after all. Luckily, on June 24, you can be the first to experience a new play currently up for consideration for Ensemble Theatre Company‘s next season. Head to Alhecama Theatre at 7:30 p.m. for a reading of Albert Innaurato‘s new comedy The Impossibility of Most Things.

Innaurato, the playwright of one of Broadway’s longest running shows, Gemini, offers a new play about three artists (Panna, Michael and Thekla) who met in college in the 1970s and live in New York City. Twenty years of tumultuous love, companionship and self-discovery bring the audience to laughs and potentially even tears.

Theater fans, don’t miss this opportunity to see a raw, uncut reading of a play that could be performed on the New Vic stage sometime in the future. No need to make reservations, and the reading is free. Check here for more details.
