Santa Barbara’s Hottest Chefs Come Together to Fight Hunger

What better way to end childhood hunger by teaming up a community with the city’s best chefs? Fighting hunger in Santa Barbara and across the nation is the goal of Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, Santa Barbara’s sixth annual culinary benefit. This delicious event will be held on Sunday, May 19, at Montecito Country Club from 3 to 6 p.m., with a VIP reception beginning at 3 p.m.

Share Our Strength works to connect children with nutritious food and teaches families how to prepare healthy, affordable meals. For Taste of the Nation, Share Our Strength gathers more than 30 of Santa Barbara’s finest restaurants and most talented chefs. Among this year’s participants are Montecito Country Club, The Lark, Caveau Wine Bar & Merchant, Bella Vista at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore, New West Catering, Jessica Foster Confections and executive chef David Reardon of Bacara Resort & Spa. Paired with the meals prepared by these chefs are top-notch wines from the region’s finest winemakers.

Also featured is a Community Chef Competition, where the chefs are paired with Santa Barbara leaders and officials — a true community effort! All proceeds from this year’s event will go toward area charities, including Santa Barbara Food Bank, which aims to provide food, education and resources to end hunger in Santa Barbara.

Since 1988, Taste of the Nation has raised more than $236,000 in Santa Barbara alone and continues to spread awareness of childhood hunger in America, calling for change…and change is coming! For more information, please click here.
