Big stars are showing huge support! Actor Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka, as well as Iron Chef Cat Cora and her wife Jennifer Cora, are among the many honorary co-chairs of Pacific Pride Foundation‘s (PPF) second annual Royal Ball. The Ball brings together a community of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight supporters. Presented in conjunction with Merryl Brown Events, such a lavish ball deserves an equally extravagant venue, which is why the Saturday, April 13 event is hosted by Bacara Resort and Spa, beginning at 7 p.m.
PPF is vitally important to Santa Barbara, being the only organization on the Central Coast that provides HIV and AIDS services and education. PPF also offers LGBT counseling and recovery services, programs for questioning youth and sensitivity training for law enforcement. Vocally and actively against LGBT violence, PPF also advocates suicide prevention among gay youth and fights for full legal equality. The organization draws many advocates and a hearty handful of famous supporters to co-chair of the event.
Additional honorary co-chairs include: 20th Century Fox Television’s Chairman Gary Newman and his wife LA talent attorney Jeanne Newman, actress Jane Lynch and her wife Dr. Lara Embry, writer/producer/singer Shaun Cassidy and his wife Tracey Turner-Cassidy, as well as committee members Rob Lowe, Joanna Kerns and writers/producers Jeffrey Klarik and David Crane.
Magnificent dancers, extreme stilt performers and torque acrobats will entertain as you enjoy royally delicious delicacies, such as colorful cocktails and canapés served on silver trays. Los Angeles DJ Mike Bryant will keep the beat going until the wee hours of the morning.
Whew! That’s not all. Both live and silent auctions are on the agenda, featuring items such as a Bacara Resort & Spa Commitment Ceremony package with event planning by Merryl Brown Events, an original painting by Los Angeles artist Baret Boisson and a beautifully crafted restoration of a classic 1954 cherry-red Ford V8 Pickup Truck.
Tickets for this event are unfortunately sold out, but don’t make the mistake of missing out next year!
