If they inspired Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Eric Clapton, you know they’re good. Back by popular demand, Blues at the Crossroads Two: Muddy and The Wolf are coming to UCSB Campbell Hall for a show you won’t want to miss as part of the Arts & Lectures series on March 12.
The night will be a musical sensation, with appearances from The Fabulous Thunderbirds featuring Kim Wilson, James Cotton, Jody Williams, Bob Margolin and Tinsley Ellis, and special tributes to late blues legends Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. Joining Blues at the Crossroads as the core band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds bring the event even closer to home with Grammy-nominated Kim Wilson: leading vocalist, harmonica player and Goleta local previously known as “Goleta Slim” while she was an aspiring high school musician here in town. Wilson is now nominated for this years Blues Music Award for Best Instrumentalist.
Be prepared to hear some of the best live blues, R&B and rock ‘n’ roll from artists who have shaped the genre throughout their careers. You’ll be moving to classics like “Spoonful,” “Rolling Stone,” “Mannish Boy,” “Smokestack Lightning,” “Tuff Enuff” and “Wrap it Up” all night long!
