There’s only one way to commemorate the hundred-year birthday of Julia Child: with food, wine… and more food.
Wine Cask hosts an indulgent feast this Thursday, September 6 to celebrate the life and work of the lovable Julia Child, complete with a special guest of honor, author Bob Spitz. Spitz just recently published a biography on Child entitled Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child.
Chef Brandon Hughes, who cooked for Child several times, will prepare his interpretations of her favorites: black mission figs and buratta with wild arugula, duck confit and fig vinaigrette; braised short ribs with soft white corn polenta, haricots verts and bursted tomato beurre blanc; and, of course, chocolate almond cake with chocolate icing.
What’s more, a portion of the proceeds go to benefit Santa Barbara City College’s School of Culinary Arts. So join this feast by a fabulous chef in celebration of another fabulous chef—your taste buds will thank you later. For tickets, please call Wine Cask at 805/966-9463.
