Lead sing Perry Farrell is back, along with former Red Hot Chili Pepper Dave Navarro, Drummer Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney on bass. Credited with inspiring an entire generation of alternative bands such as Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam and Tool, the band has broken up and reassembled many times over the years and is garnering good word of mouth for the current tour.
The band’s fourth album, The Great Escape Artist, is inspired by the underbelly of Los Angeles, “a carnival of freaks, hustlers, miscreants, and street corner visionaries of all kinds.Below the glistening veneer of Hollywood’s lights lies a counter culture driven by escapism. Whether it’s via carnal, mental, physical, chemical, or aural pleasures, the denizens of this quirky court thrive on escape. They hunger for it. They endlessly seek it. They intrinsically need it,” according to the band.
